Orcana Recording Studios was created by Trevor Titian to record an album for his sister Michelle Titian. With the assistance of Studio Guitar wizard Bill Dillion, a guerilla studio was created around a Pro Tools rig, some good outboard gear, a Soundcraft console and some excellent microphones. The album went on to win a Hamilton music award best female vocalist. Once recording began, the team quickly realized that the room itself was something special. The 22 foot high sloped ceilings reduced standing waves and gave the room a deep powerful bottom end with out becoming muddy or overwhelming. Trevor has since recorded music for Peter Tigchelaar, Rachael Hart and Harrison Kenedy of Electro-fi records. The studio itself is suitable for everything from live off the floor recordings to full orchestra/choir to events with an audience. |
